DEBUT is a celebration. It is a celebration of letting go and finding your voice. Whilst I would say I have always been an artist, it is now, in my thirties, that I am living it with more life, self-belief and purpose than ever before. I have spent the last year making and experimenting in the hope of finding a way and style that ‘feels me’ and I am ecstatic to have found that in this collection.

 

My process relies on intuition and feeling, starting by placing colours and shapes where feels good and cathartic to me. Rather than being bound by the brush, I have used other objects and tools to help me with this, inviting happy accidents and letting go of perfectionism and stiffness. Once I feel my initial layers of mark-making are complete, I step back and look for creative opportunities to build, to develop, to add details. It is here that flowers can make an appearance - though not always.

 

Most of the artworks are mixed-media, made from acrylic paints, acrylic paint-pens, acrylic inks, neocolor crayons and ink lettering. The majority of the collection are originals, with a couple of pieces also available as prints.
